The highly anticipated urban drama "The System Within" will be release on DVD May 8,
2007 by URBAN WORKS ENTERTAINMENT/FIRST LOOK STUDIOS according to THE SYSTEM
WITHIN FILM PRODUCTION, LLC (TSW)
The cast includes seasoned actors: Hawthorne James (The Five Heartbeats, Speed,
Bossin' Up), Grammy award winner Bryce Wilson (Beauty Shop, Trois, Weekend Vibe),
Robert Miano (Donnie Brasco, Thick as Thieves, Detour) and the film debut of multi
platinum rap star Chingy ( Right Thurr, Ballin' Baby Pullin Me Back). Dale
Resteghini, who has earned the title "The King of Urban Independent Cinema", directs
the film.
Before others got on this unique casting bandwagon, TSW toured the nation by bus to
audition thousands of talented but unknown actors, singer and dancers to participate
in this first of a kind film project. This will combine the skills of working
professionals with talented but untested amateur cast members, who were selected
from the 40 city talent search.
The project is the brainchild of Tariq Alexander, a model-actor- songwriter-producer
who will make his film debut in The System Within. Alexander said "We wanted the
real thing for this movie so we went on a grassroots expedition looking for talent
outside of New York and Los Angeles. What we found was tremendous talent and a
phenomenal support base for our project. The beauty of it is that this can be a
launching pad for many careers and a platform for addressing issues that touch us
all."
The System Within ; set in contemporary America; explores the realities of being
imprisoned by Federal conspiracy Laws and trapped by unjust Judicial sentencing
guidelines. On the surface, this movie will have you grooving in your seats to the
sounds of past & present urban rhythms, while the fashion hot off the runways of the
world will put you on top of the latest fashion trends and the essence of urban pop
culture. Upon further review, The System Within will reveal how corporations profit
from racial profiling, negative capitalism and institutional slavery, stripping our
youth of economic alternatives and moral values.
THE SYSTEM WITHIN FILM PRODUCTIONS is multi functional company specializing in
movies and music. TSW productions have a common goal of empowering new artists by
aligning them with seasoned artists. Tariq Alexander stated" We will always makes
opportunities for first timers; not only actors, singers, songwriters, dancers, but
hairstylists, make-up artists, and wardrobe designers so they gain experience
working with established industry professionals. We can effectively do this because
we have a networking database of entertainment professionals and contacts. The good
